A successful lecture from Professor Li Hong from Tsinghua University

    Professor Li Hong, who is the party secretary and PhD. supervisor of law school of Tsinghua University has held a wonderful lecture in moot court in Jiulonghu Campus in November 11th, 2016. The lecture focused on “Criminal Problems in Telecommunication Fraud”, was the 8th of “The Series Lectures of Law Major 20th and Law School 10th Anniversary”. Professor Liu Yanhong hosted the lecture, with Professor Ouyang Benqi, associate Professor Li Chuan, associate Professor Liu Jianli, associate Professor Qian Xiaoping, teacher Liang Yunbao and teacher Yang Zhiqiong attending the lecture.

    Professor Li Hong introduced several famous telecommunication fraud cases which had aroused heated discussion such as “Xu Yuyu’s case”.  He pointed out that the methods of telecommunication fraud became high-technicalization, and exposed urgent needs to take precaution of it. Telecommunication fraud is a kind of new crime and a combination of traditional fraud and telecommunication. In practice this kind crimes were directly identified fraud crime, but the problem is, is all “behaviors of telecommunication fraud” can be defined fraud crimes? It requires more discussion. According to nine typical telecommunication fraud cases released by the Supreme Court, Professor Li Hong mainly discussed the qualitative problems and complicity cognizance in telecommunication fraud.

    The lecture has lasted for more than two hours, and strengthened audiences’ comprehension on Criminal Law, especially on the cognizance of new telecommunication fraud. After the lecture, Professor Li Hong took picture with part of teachers and students.
