On the evening of December 12, 2016, Professor Wei Jianguo of the bylaw school in Heilongjiang University gave a lecture entitled The Problem of People's Livelihood in the Age of Urbanization and the Construction of the Society-based Rule of Law in the Mock Court of Jiulonghu Campus of SEU. The lecture was chaired by Prof. Ouyang Benqi, vice dean of the law school, and around 100 teachers and students were attended.
First of all, Professor Wei pointed out that many of the urbanization problems we encounter today are not caused by urbanization itself, but can be attributed to weak understanding and understanding of urbanization, including people's livelihood, which is also the most central issue in the process of urbanization. Then, Professor Wei introduced the the three individual models of western modern people's livelihood, namely, the socialist model of the Soviet Union, the German Fascist model, as well as the United States Roosevelt New Deal. Professor Wei said that China is facing many problems because of improper marketization and the Anglo-American countries in the process of marketization have encountered these problems. The solution is to return to human rights and the rule of law itself. Finally, Professor Wei concluded that solving the problem of people's livelihood is to rise to the core values of the Constitution.
In the questioning session, the students actively participate in and Professor Wei cited famous examples to give a detailed answer. The speech had the perfect ending.
