Lecturer Ye Quan attended the 2017 Forum on “the South China Sea Atribution (the Republic of the Philippines V. the People’s Republic of China)”

    The 2017 Forum on“the South China Sea Atribution (the Republic of the Philippines V. the People’s Republic of China)” was convoked in Wuhan University in January 18th, 2017. The forum was hosted by Wuhan University China Institute of Boundary and Ocean Studies and Collaborative Innovation Center for Territorial Sovereignty and Maritime Rights, and over 50 representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Institute for South China Sea Studies and dozens of universities attended it. All the participants focused on five issues in the South China Sea Atribution (the Republic of the Philippines V. the People’s Republic of China to protect Chinese maritime rights, which were “jurisdiction and historic rights”, “location of the islands and reefs”, “fact finding and the evaluation of evidences”, “the interpretation and the application of ‘the Convention’, custom and law” and “response to subsequent problems”. Lecturer Ye Quan from law school of Southeast University was invited to attend the forum, and made a report named “Boundaries, effects and responses to the construction of islands and reefs in coastal states”, which obtained high evaluation.
