Professor Liu Yanhong, the dean of Law School of Southeast University was invited to hold a lecture named “the Influence of the General Rules of Civil Law to the Criminal Law” at Jiangsu Normal University, on April 28th. The dean of Law School of Jiangsu Normal University.
The lecture focused on the possible influence that the General Rules of Civil Law might bring to the Criminal Law and how to deal with cross cases. Firstly professor Liu pointed out the differences of basic ideas between civil law and criminal law. The formulation of the General Rules of Civil Law emphasized its moralization which might lead to civil-law-imperialism and expansion of crime circle, and that’s what we need to prevent. Then, professor Liu explained the influence that new rules might bring to criminal theory from several specific aspects in cross cases, such as virtual property and samaritan. At last, professor Liu provide some advice to the problems consequent on the change in criminal legislation.
The lecture gained high appreciation from the Law School of Jiangsu Normal University.
