The 6th Sino-Japan Criminal Law Symposium was held at International Convention Center in Wenhao Building of Jiangnan University, from September 16th to 17th, 2017. The Sino-Japan Criminal Law Symposium was found and developed by professor Nishihara Haruo and professor Gao Mingxuan, and was the top level seminar of academic exchange between law experts in China and Japan. This symposium was held by Law School of Southeast University, and undertook by Law School of Jiangnan University, meanwhile assisted by Jiangsu K-Bright Law Firm and Hongyuan Law Firm. Over one hundred and sixty experts and professors from universities and institutes attended this meeting, including some famous experts from University of Tokyo, Waseda University and so on.
Dean Liu Yanhong, as the representative host, expressed sincere thanks and warm welcome to guests from afar. Professor Nishihara Haruo, who was the president of Wasada University gave his speech as a special guest.
Then, professor Takahashi Norio from Waseda University and professor Zhang Mingkai gave their opening speeches as Chinese and Japanese representatives. Professor Wu Zhengguo, the vice president of Jiangnan University also expressed welcome to all experts, and wished the symposium a full success.
The symposium focused on four topics, respectively were Theories and Practical Issues of Causality, Theories and Practical Issue of Justifiable Defense, Theories and Practical Issue of Sexual Crimes, Theories and Practical Issues of Fraud Crimes. Experts from China and Japan each aired his or her own views centered on these four topics. After all the discuss, professor Zheng Zeshan made a summary to the meeting, along with professor Kai Kaikyo as Japanese representative, and professor Chen Xingliang as Chinese representatives. And the close ceremony was hosted by professor Zeng Xianghua, the dean of Law School of Jiangnan University. Professor Takahashi and Professor Liang Genlin made their speeches in the close ceremony. Finally, the symposium ended in warm applause.
