Just before the 6th Sino-Japan Criminal Law Symposium is convened, Mr. Nishihara Haruo, an old friend to Chinese criminal law circle, as well as the ex-president of Waseda University, visited Law School of Southeast University and gave a brilliant lecture to the young students. Mr. Hongo Mitsuyoshi, who is a guest professor of Law School also attended the meeting. Dean Liu Yanhong hosted the lecture and the forum after that, while associate professor Liu Mingquan acted as an interpreter for this meeting.
The subject of this lecture is “East Asia in the world and with China and Japan in it”. Mr. Nishihara indicated that under the background of globalization and the development of artificial intelligence, “East Asia should be a place of peace”. He looked back to the time when he was only 17 then. After the surrender of Japan he has been promoting academic communication between China and Japan. Before the ending of the lecture, Mr. Nishihara drew the conclusion that China and Japan should enhance mutual understanding and work together.
