The Forth Session of BBS -- Professor Zhao Jun Addressed Lecture

    On the4th of June, 2018, the forth session of the law BBS created by the school of law for teachers and students arrived as promised. The speaker of this lecture was Associate Dean of the Guanghua Law School of Zhejiang University and Young Scholar of the Cheung Kong Scholars Projectof the Ministry of Education, Professor Zhao Jun. The lecture was hosted by Professor Xiao Bing. Associate Professor Dai Qingkang, Associate Professor Yu Wenjie, Lecturer Zhang Xuelian, Lecturer Yutao and students majored in International Law attended this lecture.

  

    The theme of the lecture is Relationship between International Law and Domestic Rule of Law. Professor Zhao Jun started the lecture with the question What is the rule of law to the students. The students expressed their opinions on this issue. Professor Zhao Jun then commented and summarized the views of students. Professor Zhao pointed out that the rule of law needed good law and good governance, and its connotation and extension were constantly changing. Professor Zhao believed that there were different types of the rule of law based on different cultural backgrounds. Professor Zhao then discussed with the students about the common ground between the international rule of law and the rule of law in the country. Professor Zhao further guided everyone to think in depth about what kind of interaction between the international rule of law and the domestic rule of law was, and what kind of rules this interaction followed.

  

    In the duration of lecture, professor Zhao discussed the topic by three steps.The first step was ontology. The second step was to refine the interaction laws by analyzing some specific fields. The third step was to apply the interaction law to specific fields. In these three steps of analysis, Professor Zhao particularly emphasized how China had contributed to the international rule of law. Professor Zhao finally answered the questions from the participants of the lecture. The lecture was ended in enthusiasm and inspiration.
