From October 13 to 14, 2018, the 2018 Administrative Law Annual Conference joint organized by the Administrative Law Research Society of the Chinese Law Society, and the School of Administrative Law of the Northwest University of Political Science and Law and the School of Administrative Law of the Northwest University of Political Science and Law, was held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. The theme of this conference is “The Mission of Administrative Law in New Age”. More than 460 experts and scholars from research institutes and related departments of universities and colleges across the country attended the conference. Professor Meng Hongzhi, Associate Professor Li Yuxing, Associate Professor Xiong Zhanglin, Associate Professor Liu Qichuan, and several doctoral students were invited to attend this conference.

    The opening ceremony of the conference was chaired by Professor Wang Zhouhu, vice president of the Administrative Law Research Association of the Chinese Law Society and director of the Center for the Construction of the Collaborative Innovation Center of the Shaanxi University of Political Science and Law.

    There were four sub-forums of this conference, namely, (1)“The New Development of Administrative Legislation and the Possibility of General Administrative Law”,  (2) “Institutional Reform and Theoretical Innovation of Administrative Law”, (3) “New Mission of Administrative Trial in the New Era”and (4)“Science and Technology Development with the supervision of innovation”. Experts and scholars have conducted extensive and in-depth discussions on related issues. As a commentator, Professor Meng Hongzhi made in-depth and wonderful comments on the related articles of the sub-forum (1). Associate Professor Liu Qichuan made a wonderful presentation on how to promote the legalization of government agencies in the sub-forum (2).

    The closing ceremony was presided over by Professor Ji Yaping, Dean of the School of Administrative Law of Northwest University of Political Science and Law. Later, Professor Ying Songnian presented the award for “Ying Songnian Administrative Law Outstanding Achievement Award”. Associate Professor Xiong Zhanglin won this award. Finally, Professeor Ma Huaide, president of the Institute of Administrative Law of the Chinese Law Society and vice president of the China University of Political Science and Law, made a concluding speech. The conference ended successfully.
