On October 20, 2018, sponsored by the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Education, the 20th Anniversary of the Cheung Kong Scholar Awards Program cum the 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening up and the Socialist Rule of Law Forum with Chinese Characteristics at the Renmin University of China The Law School was grandly held.

    Director of the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Education, Director of the Leading Group of the Ministry of Education, Zhao Danling, President of the Renmin University of China, Professor Liu Wei, Distinguished Professor of Cheung Kong Scholars, and other leaders attended the forum. Professor Wang Liming, Executive Vice President of Renmin University of China and Distinguished Professor of Cheung Kong Scholar, Prof. Zhao Xudong, Professor of Civil and Commercial Economics Law School of China University of Political Science and Law, Professor Chang Xudong, Distinguished Professor of Cheung Kong Scholar, and many other Cheung Kong Scholars from the law school were invited to participate.

    Professor Zhou Youyong, Vice President of the Southeast University and Distinguished Professor of Cheung Kong Scholar, was invited to attend the forum.

    The opening ceremony of the forum was hosted by Wang Liming, Executive Vice President of Renmin University of China and Distinguished Professor of Cheuang Kong Scholars. Liu Wei, President of the People's University of China and Distinguished Professor of Cheung Kong Scholars, and Zhao Danling, Director of the Ministry of Education and the Director of the Office of the Leading Group for Talents of the Ministry of Education delivered speeches respectively. Subsequently, Wang Hao, dean of the School of Law of Renmin University of China and deputy secretary of the Party Committee and Distinguished Professor of Cheung Kong Scholars, delivered the keynote speech on the theme of “The 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening up and the Socialist Rule of Law System with Chinese Characteristics”, Professor Wang Liming, Professor Cui Jianyuan, Zhang Shouwen, and Professor Zhou Youyong served as guest speakers.

    Professor Zhou Youyong of our law school spoke on the topic of “How to Deepen the Rule of Law in Higher Education in the New Era”.
