From December 1st to 2nd, 2018, the High-level Forum on the Cross-Straits and the 12th Middle-aged Criminal Law Scholars in the Mainland was held in Hainan Province. Professor Ouyang Benxi and Associate Professor Liang Yunbao of the Criminal Law Institute of our institute were invited to participate in the meeting, having active and in-depth exchanges with the participants.

    The forum was co-organized by Hainan University Law School, Renmin University of China Press and Hainan Haida Pingzheng Law Firm. It was centered on three issues under the theme of “new subject of modern criminal law”. More than 100 criminal law scholars and editors from Taiwan University, Taipei University, Political University, Zhongzheng University, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Southeast University,Global Law Review, Jurist, Law, Legal Science, Political and Legal Forum, and Politics and Law attended this forum and conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions.

    During the meeting, Professor Ouyang presented his unique insights on the outstanding problems in the theory and practice of legitimate defense, and received the attention and debate of the participants.

    This meeting further enhanced the popularity of Southeast University Law School in the country and injected substantial content into the continued development of cross-strait criminal law exchanges.
