In order to promote the exchanges between the Law school and substantive departments, and enhance students' practical ability, the Law school decided to cooperate with Jinglin Law Firm Nanjing Branch and Jiangsu Jurong City Procuratorate to carry out a series of criminal debate activities. The activity time will last for two months. For this reason, the Law school has set up a criminal debate team consisting of 6 graduate students and 8 undergraduates. The debate team is headed by the teacher Yu Wenjie, and the teacher Yang Zhiqiong is the professional director. The activities include knowledge training and practical debate. 

On the evening of February 28, 2019, the first event was held at the Judicial Court of Law School in Southeast University. The activity was entitled Basic Knowledge and Advanced Stages of the Debating Competition. The instructor was Chen Peiwen, a lawyer from Zhejiang Jinglin Law Firm. He used the clear and concise words to tell the importance of the lawyer's debate and the skills of the lawyer's debate, which achieved good results.

Director Ni Kan highly affirmed the significance of this event, saying that lawyers and other legal practitioners should pay attention to academics and strive to improve themselves.
