On March 19, 2019, the opening ceremony of the Eighth National Congress of the Chinese Law Society was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Professor Liu Yanhong from the law school was invited to attend this meeting and was elected as a member of the China Law Society.

The convening of the Eighth National Congress of the Chinese Law Society has inspired the majority of legal workers to carry out their work. The scholars and experts of the Chinese Law Society will surely conduct more in-depth theoretical research and work hard for the country's rule of law, prosperity, and protection of rights and interests. Professor Liu Yanhong, who is elected as a member of the Chinese Law Society, also inspired all the teachers of the law school to study more rigorously, inspiring all students of the law school to respond to the call of the times, earnestly study the law, and become a successor to the socialist rule of law with Chinese characteristics.
