On June 5, 2019, co-organized by the Legal Big Data Base of Southeast University and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory of Southeast University, Sina Internet Law Research Institute, Jiangsu Xinshiyun Technology Co.Ltd. and the Xishan District People's Court of Kunming City, the 5th Intelligent Court Forum was held in Kunming, Yunnan Province. More than one hundred and eighty experts and scholars participated in this forum, including Han Wei, deputy inspector of the Supreme People's Court Trial Management Office, Liu Haiyan, head of the Research and Development department of the Information Center of the Supreme People's Court, Tang Yingmao, associate professor of Peking University Law School, Zhi Zhenfeng, professor and researcher of the Institute of Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Zhang Changhao, the general manager of Jiangsu Xinshiyun Technology Co.Ltd. Deputy dean of the School of Law of Southeast UniversityWang Lusheng and associate researcher Xu Minchuan were invited to this forum.
Firstly, Dean of Sina Internet Law InstituteGu Haiyan and Vice President of the Intermediate People's Court of Kunming CityMeng Jing delivered opening speeches respectively. Deputy inspector of the Trial Management Office of the Supreme People's CourtHan Wei, head of the Research and Development department of the Information Center of the Supreme People's CourtLiu Haiyan, and deputy director of the Technical Department of the Yunnan Higher People's CourtZhang Chunyou delivered keynote speeches.
Wang Lusheng, deputy dean and researcher of Southeast University Law School, gave a keynote speech on “Technical Barriers to Legal Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Applications andResponses”. Starting with internationaland domestic trends, Wang Lusheng analyzed the development of legal big data and artificial intelligence and pointed out that technical obstacles in map construction, plot extraction, class identification, model training, and sentencing prediction needed promoting the importance of law school in research and development on legal artificial intelligence. Tang Yingmao, associate professor of Peking University Law School, Zhi Zhenfeng, researcher of the Institute of Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Fu Xiyong, dean of the Xishan District People's Court of Kunming, Yunnan Province, and Deputy Director of Jiangsu Xinshiyun Technology Co., Ltd. General Manager Zhou Hangbin also delivered keynote speeches.
Xu Minchuan, associate researcher at the School of Law of Southeast University, presided over a special seminar on strengthening the scope, process and security mechanism of the court trial. The discussion aroundthree reports were launched in-depth.
The 5th Intelligent Court Forum was a summary and analysis of the informatization construction of the intelligent courts, and also a positive exploration and prospect for future development. Simultaneously, this forum highlighted the scientific research achievements of the Legal Big Data Base of Southeast University and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory of Southeast University, and affirmed scientific research ability and innovation ability.
