In September 2019, Professor John Rogers, who was hired by our school, gave a lecture at Southeast University. Professor John Rogers has worked in such well-known institutions as Tsinghua University, China University of Political Science and Law and Beijing Foreign Studies University. He has excellent academic background and rich teaching experience.
On the morning of September 18th, Prof. John Rogers taught the first lesson of the Anglo-American Legal System for the third-grade undergraduate students, accompanied by Lu Yan, Dai Qingkang and Yu Wenzhao. This course is mainly about the introduction of the course and the content overview. Professor John Rogers has fully interacted with everyone in the class, and distributed questionnaires at the end of the course to get feedback from the class. The main goal of the course is to show students a common law-based framework and the importance of knowledge in a global environment. Students are taught to understand the basics of other laws and culture through lectures, reading, and group projects. Students will read the specified theory and background materials. Most of the courses will be based on case studies and a group analysis and review of common law cases and doctrines. Professor's humorous teaching style has been well received by the students.
On September 19th, Professor John Rogers gave a lecture on Contract Law for 2018 graduate students. In this course, the main content of the course is introduced first. Secondly, through the two news about investment and dollar status, the students have a specific perception of globalization. Again, through the Japanese Sharp Company v. China Hisense case Let the students learn about the different legal systems in the world; finally, introduce the theme of globalization, and explain what is globalization, the history of globalization and the issue of globalization. Professor John Rogers gave a wonderful interpretation of globalization and related issues in a humorous language, supplemented by case analysis, and sparked interest in academic exploration.
The course will last for nearly three months and will be taught in English by undergraduate and postgraduate students by Professor John Rogers.
