On September 20, 2019, the first working conference of the China Computing Law Development Alliance was held at Tsinghua University. Representatives from six universities and other related disciplines such as Tsinghua University Law School, Shanghai Jiaotong University Kaiyuan Law School, Southeast University Law School, Sichuan University Law School, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Southwest University of Political Science and Law College of Artificial Intelligence Law agreed to jointly initiate the establishment. Under the witness of more than 200 domestic and international guests at the 2nd International Forum on Computing Law held on September 21, the inauguration ceremony of the China Computing Law Development Alliance was held, and the alliance was officially established.
At the first working conference of the China Computing Law Development Alliance, Professor Liu Yanhong of our institute pointed out that modern society is driven by science and technology, and the development of emerging interdisciplinary fields is the only way to the future. Universities with obvious characteristics of science and engineering should not only have the advantages of traditional jurisprudence, but also should provide a good foundation for the intersection of law and information science in combination with the advantages of science and engineering such as computer science and mathematics. The alliance will serve as the basis for the development of relevant university disciplines, promote the establishment of secondary disciplines, and break down academic barriers.
Professor Shen Weixing, Dean of School of Law, Tsinghua University, Professor Wang Xigen, Dean of School of Law, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Professor Cheng Jinhua, Associate Dean of Kaiyuan Law School, Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Mr. Sun Baogang, Deputy Director of Research Department, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Sichuan University School of Law, Zhan Deputy Researcher Xiao Ping said on behalf of other sponsors that they would actively support the establishment of the alliance. Participants discussed the work of the alliance and jointly agreed on the operational system and work plan of the alliance.
The China Computational Law Development Alliance is a close cooperation between the six universities in the field of computational law. It aims to promote the development of computational law toward the scientific discipline system, build a platform for academic exchanges, and provide a high level of legal theory for the modernization of the country's rule of law. Professor Liu Yanhong from our hospital was invited to participate in the conference, which actively expanded the academic influence of our college and reflected the importance attached to the cross-cutting discipline of computational law. Our school will actively cooperate with other colleges and universities, continue to give full play to the advantages of cross-disciplinary advancement, and contribute to the cultivation of personnel and discipline construction in the field of computational law!
