On October 17, the 28th Academic Symposium of the Chinese Society of Criminology was held in Xi'an. The seminar was hosted by the China Society of Criminology, hosted by the Shanxi Provincial People's Procuratorate, co-organized by the Northwest University of Political Science and Law. More than 200 people from the legal profession, including experts and scholars, representatives of scientific research institutions, and public security officials. Associate Professor Qian Xiaoping is invited to attend the conference.

The theme of this seminar is “Modern Society and Crime Governance”, focusing on “Basic Theory of Crime Prevention and Control and Victim Prevention”, “Basic Position of Criminal Policy in Risk Society”, and “Criminal Statistics in the Age of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence” Five units.The Academic Committee of the Chinese Society of Criminology carefully selected the conference papers,including quantitative analysis, prevention and control of crimes by black and evil forces, and prevention, control and governance of crimes in the field of environmental medicines were discussed. and decided to reward 25 outstanding papers according to the matching degree of the selected topics, the clarity of the viewpoints, the adequacy of the arguments, and the scientific nature of the research methods. Prof. Li Chuan of our institute, The Criminal Policy Position of Risk Prevention in the Background of Risk Society and the Development of Its Mechanism of Obtaining the Law won the second prize of the excellent paper; Associate Professor Qian Xiaoping,  Governance Targeted Renewal : Compliance Policy for Pollution of Environmental Crimes The first initiative - from the rational choice theoryperspective, won the third prize of excellent papers.
