On May 28, 2020, the online defense meeting of 8 graduate students of civil and commercial law of our institute was successfully completed. According to the unified requirements of the University, the master's thesis defense adopts the online mode, with Professor Chen Guanghua of the school of law of Hehai University as the chairman of the defense, lawyer Xu Xudong, Minister of labor and Social Security Law Department of Jiangsu Yicheng law firm, as the off campus expert member, and Shan Pingji, associate professor of Gaoge, associate professor of infantry and ouyunxiang, associate professor of law of Southeast University As a member of the defense committee, lecturer Xing Chenxi of our college served as the defense secretary. In strict accordance with the requirements of normative documents such as measures for the management of the whole process of the quality of Graduate Dissertations of Southeast University Law School and measures for the work of the quality steering group of Graduate Dissertations of Southeast University Law School, and under the guidance of video defense process of Graduate Dissertations during the epidemic prevention and control period, the defense team uses zoom software to conduct online thesis defense for 8 graduate students And many students actively enter the online conference room to listen.

This Postgraduate oral defense is the first online oral defense for the master degree students of Southeast University Law School. There is no experience for reference before. Graduate school and law school attach great importance to this, and prepare well for the defense work to ensure that each student's defense is carried out smoothly. In terms of process arrangement: first, the chairman of the oral defense introduces the composition of the oral defense committee and the list of secretaries, announces the beginning of the oral defense meeting, and reads out the oral defense agenda and precautions; the tutor introduces the study, work and political and ideological performance of the oral defense graduate students (5 minutes); the students of the oral defense summarize the work and main contents of the thesis (no less than 10 minutes); the questions and answers of the oral defense group（ No less than 30 minutes); the defense group shall conduct deliberation and vote alone, and announce the resolution of the defense committee to the public. The Secretary of defense has recorded the whole process of each student's online defense, and generated a complete, continuous and non edited video file for subsequent evaluation and reference.

The defense began at 8 a.m. on May 28 and lasted until about 6 p.m. Each student who participated in the defense used the shared screen to report the defense, and analyzed the ideas, core ideas and innovation of the paper. The defense group is conscientious and responsible. It highlights the key points of the questions raised by the defense students without losing novelty, and makes an overall evaluation and detailed revision of the paper. After sufficient preparation and intense thinking, the respondent answered the questions of the defense group one by one, thanked the defense group for its opinions on the revision of the thesis, and promised to make targeted revisions to the defense thesis to meet the requirements of the defense group. The total time of each student's reply exceeds the required 50 minutes. The whole process of oral defense is tense, active, standardized and cutting-edge, which makes the oral defense meeting of master's online thesis successfully completed under the requirements of high quality and high standard.

In order to strengthen the quality management of dissertations, Southeast University law school issued the measures for the whole process management of the quality of dissertations of Postgraduates of Southeast University Law School and the measures for the work of the quality steering group of Postgraduates of Southeast University Law School on March 18, 2020, and held the online meeting for the work of the quality steering group of Postgraduates of law school in 2020 in various professional directions It puts forward various requirements for the implementation of the three-level control system. This defense meeting is another test of the whole process management effect of the master's thesis quality of our college. Our college attaches great importance to personnel training. Next, our college will further strengthen the quality assurance of graduate students and the construction of personnel training capacity.   

On the other hand, this master's defense is just at the time of fighting against the new crown epidemic in China. After deciding to organize the online defense, the college has made full preparations, which has been supported and affirmed by the majority of teachers and students. The online reply mode is unique, and the quality of the reply is better than the offline one. This master's defense meeting has accumulated valuable experience for the follow-up defense in the standardized operation and technical issues of the defense process.
