On the afternoon of June 10, Professor Li Chuan, Law School of Southeast University, at the invitation of Zhenjiang Municipal Bureau of justice, gave a special lecture on studying community correction law for the city's political and legal system. The lecture was held in the lecture hall of the Party School of Zhenjiang municipal Party committee. More than 300 people from the judicial administration, the people's court, the people's Procuratorate, the public security organ and other relevant functional departments of community correction participated in the lecture.
From the perspective of maintaining social harmony and stability, promoting the construction of rule of law in China, closely following the core and spiritual essence of the community correction law, Professor Li Chuan made an in-depth explanation on the legislative background, highlights, concerns and future development of the community correction law, and put forward that community correction should be targeted at restoration and return, standardization of correction and diversion of management and control We are working to a new level. After more than two hours of lectures, the atmosphere was warm, and Professor Li's witty and humorous interpretation won high praise from the participants.
In June 2017, Southeast University and Jiangsu Provincial Department of Justice jointly established the Jiangsu Province community correction damage repair theoretical research base to carry out theoretical research and practical innovation of community correction. The results of community correction and damage repair, mainly including correction and repair of community prisoners, compensation and repair of victims (communities), repair of social norms and effectiveness, repair of social relations and order as a whole, have been formed and implemented in Jiangsu Province. Relevant experience was also absorbed by the community correction law adopted at the 15th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress on December 28, 2019, which shows that our hospital has contributed Jiangsu wisdom to improve the community correction work system in the new era and improve the community correction work level.
