On the afternoon of January 10, 2020, our school held the 2019 Faculty and Staff Conference of the Law School. The conference was chaired by Mao Huixi, secretary of the Party Committee of the Law School. The Faculty and Staff Conference is a basic system and form for faculty and staff to exercise democratic rights, participate in democratic management, and exercise democratic supervision over the work of law schools. This conference mainly listened to and reviewed the 2019 Law School Work Report and 2019 Law School Trade Union Work Report.

At the beginning of the meeting, Secretary Mao stated that the two major themes of the faculty and staff meeting were retrospect and prospect. On the one hand, Secretary Mao spoke highly of the fruitful results achieved by our college in 2019 with the joint efforts of all faculty and staff. On the other hand, Secretary Mao made an outlook for 2020 and hoped that all members of the college would maintain a united spirit and jointly write a new chapter of the law school.

Dean Liu Yanhong then made the 2019 Law School Work Report. In 2019, in accordance with the national double first-class strategic layout, the law school is based on the cross-cutting, team-oriented, practical school-running tenet and the school-running philosophy of teaching colleges and strong scientific research institutes. With strong support, with the joint efforts of all teachers and students of the Law School, fruitful results have been achieved. Dean Liu summarized the major progress made in our work in the past year around the seven highlights.

In the follow-up session, Gao Ge, Wang Lusheng and Shan Pingji respectively reported the work of the law school in the past year and proposed new work in 2020.

Liu Jianli, the vice chairman of the trade union, represented the trade union committee in the 2019 Annual Report on Trade Union Work of the School of Law. In 2019, the trade union organized activities such as March 8 Women's Day, fun games for teachers and students, birthday celebrations for faculty and staff, and walking activities for faculty and staff, which enriched the spiritual life of faculty and staff. In addition, humanistic care for teachers and staff was strengthened by distributing holiday condolences, compassionate condolences for retirement, illness, and childbearing teachers and staff. All these have deeply promoted the emotional communication between the faculty and staff, greatly enhanced the cohesion and centripetal force of the law school, and inspired everyone to devote more full enthusiasm to the work and life of the new year.

At the end of the meeting, Secretary Mao Huixi made a concluding speech. Secretary Mao pointed out that in the past 2019, the law school, with the joint efforts of all faculty and staff, handed in a highly successful answer. In the future, the school will continue to maintain the development trend, and the law school of Southeast University will surely usher in a brighter prospect.

So far, the law school's 2019 annual staff conference has ended successfully. There will be times when the wind and waves break, and the sails will be hung straight to the sea. All the faculty and staff unanimously said that they will join hands in 2020, move forward, make unremitting efforts, and contribute to the brighter future of Southeast University Law School!
