Students of Southeast University won the third prize of "national university legal science and technology innovation competition"

On September 13, 2020, the Ruiju cup 2020 national university legal science and technology innovation competition jointly sponsored by Tsinghua University intelligent Law Research Institute and Beijing Huayu Software Co., Ltd. After nearly two months of fierce competition, the team composed of Bisheng (School of Computer Science), Yang Yan (Law School), Cheng Xiya (computer school) and Wang Shuo (Computer College) of the people's Court of Southeast University successfully stood out from 25 teams and won the fourth prize (third prize) in China after nearly two months of fierce competition.            

Ruiju Cup legal science and technology innovation competition is open to colleges and universities across the country. The title of the competition is analysis of the relationship between legal elements and parties. The competition is based on the judgment of different charges of each person involved in multiple crimes in the judicial industry. Participants are required to use models and algorithms to match and judge the input text, elements and parties, and judge the corresponding relationship between elements and parties in the current input text. The event attracted 25 teams from colleges and universities across the country, with more than 260 participants in total.            

Through analyzing the document number, paragraph content, defendant set, sentence, element name, element original value and defendant, the program of analysis of the relationship between legal elements and parties submitted by the Southeast University delegation found the law of the defendant's position in the document that matched with the elements, and through the analysis of all the defendants not in the sentence in the training data The noise in the training data is reduced and the accuracy is improved obviously. The analysis of multiple crime needs to analyze the relevant legal elements in a long description of the case, at the same time, these elements can be mapped to specific suspects. Only knowing what kind of behavior each person has carried out can we further analyze what results they should bear. Through the algorithm to achieve the analysis of the relationship between the legal elements and the parties, it provides an important reference for the judge to determine the conviction and sentencing of each actor in the gang crime in judicial practice, and also provides more options for solving the problems of more cases and less judicial efficiency in the court.            

The judicial big data research base of the people's Court of our university aims to cultivate high-end compound talents of law + Internet, law + big data and law + artificial intelligence. While strengthening the accumulation of students' theoretical knowledge, it also encourages students to grasp the frontier issues and development trend of big data and Internet law, and constantly innovate. The award also highlights the actual effect of Southeast University's new law talent training in recent years.
