On October 15, 2020, the soft subjects of higher education evaluation professional institutions officially released the 2020 ranking of China's best soft subjects, which includes 96 first-class disciplines. There are 109 universities in the list of law disciplines, among which Southeast University ranks in the top 10%.

According to the introduction of soft science, all the data of China's best discipline rankings come from authoritative third parties, such as the Ministry of education, the Ministry of science and technology, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and international and domestic literature databases. After standardized data cleaning and subject classification process processing, the index data of each discipline point can be obtained.

The index system of China's best disciplines ranking is composed of five index categories: talent training, scientific research projects, achievement awards, academic papers, and high-end talents, with 16 index dimensions, including more than 50 measurement indicators. Due to the differences in the applicability and importance of some indicators in different disciplines, China's best discipline ranking adopts a differentiated index system in different disciplines.
