In the afternoon of October 15, the appointment ceremony of the fifth Special Assistant to the President for Student Affairs of Southeast University was held in the 120 of the Administration Building of Jiulong Lake Campus. President Zhang Guangjun, responsible comrades of the Office of the President, the University Youth League Committee and other relevant units, and all members of the Fifth Special Assistant to the President for Student Affairs of Southeast University attended the appointment ceremony.

At the appointment ceremony, Yang Wen Xie, deputy secretary of the university Youth League Committee, reported the recruitment of the fifth special assistant to the president for student affairs; the director of the Office of the President, Ji Min, read out the notice on the announcement of the fifth special assistant to the president for student affairs selection results of Southeast University, Zhang Xinge, Zhu Jun, Xu Xiaohang, Hu Chenlu, Qin Xiaoyang, Hu Haochen, Xia Chen Yu, Ren Shihang, Wang Jianli, Liu Xi, Zhao Maqiong, Shamusia Aqbay and other 12 students were selected.

Ren Shihang and the other four students spoke on behalf of the new Special Assistant to the President for Student Affairs. They combined their experience of studying and living at Southeast University with their thoughts and insights from their growth, and expressed their intention to serve as the Special Assistant to the President for Student Affairs. We are determined to provide advice and act as a bridge to realize the dreams of East Carolina University. Each Special Assistant to the President for Student Affairs introduced themselves separately and proposed to do their best and perform their duties to improve campus construction and better serve teachers and students in the work of the coming year.

Zhang Guangjun pointed out in his speech that in recent years, the university has always insisted on implementing the fundamental task of establishing virtue and cultivating students, always adhering to the student-centered approach, and has effectively devoted more energy, resources and assessment indicators to students and talent cultivation by launching educational ideological discussions and implementing the 2020 Action Plan for First-Class Undergraduate Education and the Comprehensive Reform Plan for Graduate Education. In this process, the successive Special Assistants to the President for Student Affairs have made positive contributions, especially in improving the education environment and the talent cultivation model. Zhang Guangjun expressed his gratitude to the past Special Assistant to the Rector for Student Affairs for their hard work, congratulated the fifth Special Assistant to the Rector for Student Affairs, pinned high hopes and put forward the following work requirements.

Firstly, they should perform their work orientation and duties well, be good thinkers, advisers and assistants to the principal in student affairs, and perform their duties of advising, building bridges and assisting in the implementation effectively in accordance with the work flow.

Secondly, to take ownership of the perspective and areas of work, and to focus on and help advance the core areas of strategic and urgent common issues of concern to students, as well as improving the quality of leadership training.

Thirdly, we should play a good example and leading role, in the process of taking responsibility for their own strict requirements, help their own growth, enhance political requirements and work ability, maintain modesty, prudence, not arrogant style, and strive to become a model and example of the majority of students with their own excellence.
