On April 9, 2021, a seminar on Concurrent Judgment and Case Search was held in Shanghai, hosted by the Trial Management Office of the Supreme People's Court and the China Institute of Law and Society of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. More than 30 theoretical and practical experts and scholars from the Institute of Applied Law of the Supreme People's Court, Shanghai High People's Court, Chongqing High People's Court, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China University of Political Science and Law, Southeast University, Beijing Fayi Technology Co. Researcher Wang Lusheng, Deputy Director of Social Science Department (presiding) of Southeast University, PhD students Wang Shuang and Liu Jiazheng and master student Song Keying from the Law School were invited to participate in this conference.
Researcher Wang Lusheng gave a speech entitled The Technical Logic and Dilemmas of the Early Warning System of Dissenting Judgment in the second session of the conference. It was pointed out that the Same Case Disparity Early Warning Platform relies on the big data of national court judgment documents, and according to the technical logic of Ontology Construction → Circumstances Extraction → Model Training → Sentencing Prediction → Deviation Warning, it can not only provide intelligent assistance to post judges in handling cases, but also It can provide accurate reference for the quality management of decided cases. However, the current different sentencing warning platform for the same case still faces difficulties in ontology construction, episode extraction, model training, data granularity, and model interpretability. It is necessary for the technical community to make technical iterations according to the characteristics of the field when entering legal scenarios, and also requires law schools to take more responsibility and strengthen the position of legal professionals in the research and development of legal big data.
In this seminar, the experts and scholars discussed deeply and exchanged frankly, which demonstrated the high-quality achievements of our judicial big data and artificial intelligence in recent years, which is a good proof of the development of our interdisciplinary discipline of big data and Internet law, and further enhanced the influence and popularity of our big data and Internet law in the academic community.
