In order to study and implement Xi Jinping's socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and to guide local communities to do a good job in updating the publications of the 2021 Farmers' Books, the State Press and Publication Administration has recently issued the Recommended Catalogue of Key Publications for the 2021 Farmers' Books, and the book Case Study on the Protection of Rights and Interests of the Elderly in Rural Areas edited by our teacher Yang Zhiqiong was selected as the Recommended Catalogue of Key Books for the 2021 Farmers' Books (hereinafter referred to as the 2021 Recommended Catalogue).

It is reported that in order to solve the problem of difficulty in buying books, borrowing books and reading books, the State Press and Publication Administration, together with the Central Civilization Office and other ministries and commissions, jointly issued the Notice on the Issuance of Opinions on the Implementation of the Farmers' Bookshelf Project in 2007, and started to implement the Farmers' Bookshelf project nationwide. The project has become a national public welfare project. Now the project has become a national public welfare cultural project, and is an important project of the press and publishing department to serve the construction of new socialist countryside. Every year, the State Press and Publication Administration organizes relevant experts to review and prepare the annual recommended catalog of key publications for the Farmers' Books and Houses project for selection by provinces and municipalities. The 2021 Recommended Catalogue contains 1,722 key books (including 227 political and economic, 154 scientific and technological, 512 cultural, 202 medical and health life, 621 children's and 6 others).

She has published many papers in journals such as Jurisprudence, Chinese Journal of Criminal Law, Hubei Social Science and other journals in recent years, and some articles have been reprinted in Criminal Jurisprudence, a ministerial-level jurisprudence topic of the Chinese Society of Behavioral Law, and participated in many other provincial and ministerial-level topics.

In the background of urban-rural dual social structure, the phenomenon of urban-rural inversion of population aging in China is prominent, and the process of industrialization and urbanization has also impacted the pension system in rural areas, and the problem of infringement of the rights and interests of the elderly is frequent, so the issue of protecting the rights and interests of the elderly in rural areas should receive more attention.

This book focuses on the reality of rural elderly people's lives, and through a close combination of case introduction, case analysis and legal links, it provides readers with a comprehensive explanation of the normative system and remedies for the protection of the rights and interests of rural elderly people in China. The upper part introduces the governmental protection of the rights and interests of the rural elderly from the perspective of administrative law to clarify the state's responsibility; the middle part introduces how to deal with personal and property disputes of the rural elderly from the perspective of civil law to reasonably settle disputes; the lower part introduces crimes related to the personal and property rights of the rural elderly from the perspective of criminal law to warn of crime prevention and victimization prevention.

Since the implementation of the project of Farmers' Books, it has made important contributions in enhancing farmers' cultural confidence, protecting their basic cultural rights and interests, strengthening the public cultural service system in rural areas and building rural spiritual civilization, etc. It is a spiritual granary to help farmers get rid of poverty and achieve a better life. .
