On January 26, 2021, the Office of Jiangsu Provincial Education Department issued a document announcing the list of the first batch of Jiangsu undergraduate excellent cultivation textbooks. 299 undergraduate excellent cultivation textbooks in Jiangsu Province were identified after the declaration by schools, evaluation by experts, announcement of results and review by the Provincial Education Department.

The selection and recommendation of the first batch of excellent undergraduate cultivation textbooks in Jiangsu Province is an important part of the implementation of the Notice of the National Textbook Committee on the Selection of the First National Textbook Construction Award (National Textbook [2020] No. 4) and the Notice of the Provincial Department of Education on the Selection and Recommendation of the First National Textbook Construction Award for Higher Education (Su Education High Letter [2020] No. 17). It is important to select a number of excellent teaching materials with strong adaptability, good teaching effect and great influence, which can stand the test of time, to improve the overall level of quality of undergraduate teaching materials in the province and to improve the quality of human resources training through selecting the best among the best.

The textbook Criminal Law edited by Prof. Liu Yanhong of our college is published by Peking University Press, which is the key textbook of the 12th Five-Year Plan of Jiangsu Province. This textbook is of high academic level and application value, as it takes into account both general and new theories and focuses on absorbing new trends and achievements in criminal law theory, which helps students, scholars and practitioners understand the development direction of criminal law in China.

The selection of our textbook Criminal Law as one of the first batch of excellent undergraduate cultivation textbooks in Jiangsu Province is a full affirmation of our discipline construction and teaching construction achievements, reflecting the overall level of our teaching education. Taking this as an opportunity, we will continue to strengthen the cultivation of excellent teaching materials and talents, and continue to produce scientific, advanced and adaptable teaching results that meet the requirements of the development of the times and respect the laws of education and growth of talents.
