From 9:00 to 14:00 on May 14, 2021, the paper pre defense meeting of five doctoral students, including Zhao Huize, Rui Zhenhua, Li Hongjian, Zhang Yu and Zhang Yunhao, from the Law School of Southeast University, was successfully held in the conference room on the ninth floor of Yifu Building hall, Sipailou campus. The pre defense is held in accordance with the spirit of the measures for the whole process management of the quality of Graduate Dissertations of Law School of Southeast University and measures for the work of the quality steering group of Graduate Dissertations of Law School of Southeast University, which is an important measure to comprehensively improve the quality of doctoral dissertations of our college. This pre defense is divided into two sessions. The first session is held from 9:00 to 12:00. Professor Meng Hongzhi of Law School of Southeast University is the chairman. Professor Xiao Bing, Professor Liu Lianjun, Professor Xiong Zhanglin and associate professor Shan Pingji are the members. Zhao Huize, PhD candidates of constitutional and administrative law, Rui Zhenhua and Li Hongjian, PhD candidates of civil and commercial law, have successfully passed the pre defense. The second session was held from 12:00 to 14:00, with Professor Xiao Bing as chairman, Professor Shi Jianhui, Professor Liu Lianjun, Professor Xiong Zhanglin and associate professor Shan Pingji as members, and doctoral students of constitutional and administrative law Zhang Yu and Zhang Yunhao successfully passed the pre defense.

In this pre defense, the respondents elaborated the background, research purpose, research methods, research ideas, theoretical framework, innovation and research significance of the thesis to the teachers of the Defense Committee. Then, the teachers commented on the scientific, rigorous and creative aspects of the paper, and put forward opinions and suggestions on the respondent's paper from the dimensions of form and content, whole and part. In terms of form, we should strictly follow the format requirements of doctoral dissertation of Law School of Southeast University, especially the format of references and notes; In terms of content, we should pay attention to the consistency between the chapter title and its content, so that the chapter title can properly summarize the content of this chapter; On the whole, the paper should be clear about the subject attribute and highlight the professional problems; In the first part, the cohesion of each chapter should be logical and self consistent, and each part should be closely around the main line of the full text. In addition, the teachers also put forward specific suggestions on the drafting of chapter titles, the making of paper charts, the selection of references and other details.

After this pre defense, all the respondents fully understand the shortcomings of the paper, make clear the direction of revision, and will take the teachers' suggestions and instructions into the preparatory activities of formal defense. In addition, thesis pre defense is not only a platform for doctoral students to examine themselves and improve their thesis, but also an important way for the college to strengthen the cultivation of doctoral students and enhance their comprehensive ability. Our hospital will take the pre defense of doctoral thesis as an important starting point, constantly improve the quality assurance system and monitoring mechanism of doctoral cultivation, and strive to cultivate more high-level legal talents for the society.
