On May 29, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Prof. Chen Hongbing was invited to Beijing Guantao Zhongmao (Nanjing) Law Firm to give a lecture on In-depth Interpretation of the Criminal Law Amendment (XI). The lecture was co-sponsored by Nanjing Law Association Criminal Law Risk Prevention and Control Committee and Beijing Guantao Zhongmao (Nanjing) Law Firm, and hosted by Zhong Ruoxin, deputy director of the committee. The lecture was held in the form of offline lecture and online live broadcast. Lawyer Zhu Hongwei and a number of members and personnel from criminal theory research and practice departments from all over the world attended the lecture on site, and the total number of online listeners exceeded 3,400 people.

In the three-hour lecture, Prof. Chen Hongbing introduced the new and amended charges of the Amendment to the Criminal Law (Eleventh) one by one, starting from the lack of profound understanding of the charges in the Amendment and the confusion of their application in judicial practice. From the comparison of the old and new charges, Prof. Chen combined the legislative background of the specific charges, the understanding of the constitutive elements, the legal interests protected, the criminal forms, the determination of the number of crimes and other key criminal law theoretical content with typical judicial issues and cases, and interpreted and analyzed the contents of the amendment from multiple angles and levels. In addition, Prof. Chen also taught the possible defense space of specific crimes and the corresponding defense ideas from the perspective of defense lawyers.

Professor Chen integrated his years of research and experience in criminal law sub-clauses into his understanding of the application of the specific charges of the Amendment to the Criminal Law (Eleventh), bringing a wonderful lecture to the audience. After listening to the lecture, the students said that Professor Chen's lecture was enthusiastic, unique in analyzing the problems, and the lecture content was very close to the practice, with strong practical reference value and guidance significance. The lecture was a complete success.
