This meeting took the upcoming International Young Scholars Forum of Southeast University as an opportunity to discuss in depth the opportunities and challenges faced by the School in introducing young talents from home and abroad as well as in the cultivation and development of returned teachers. Party Secretary Mao Huixi, Dean Ouyang Benqi, Professor Huang Che, Associate Professor Liu Jianli, Associate Professor Lu Lu, Associate Professor Liu Mingquan, Associate Professor Zhang Yue, Ms. Gao Xiang, Ms. Xing Chenxi and Ms. Dong Luyu attended this event. The meeting was hosted by Secretary Mao Huixi.
Secretary Mao Huixi firstly analyzed the importance of introducing young talents from home and abroad with international vision from the perspective of university development and college development. He encouraged young teachers to carry out more exchanges, especially interdisciplinary exchanges, to broaden their vision and broaden their thinking. They should also pay attention to current affairs and social development, so that scientific research can be more closely related to social practice and be used for social development. Finally, Secretary Mao Huixi encouraged the young faculty to speak up and give their opinions and suggestions on the difficulties and doubts they encountered in their work, so as to promote the development of the law school. Dean Ouyang Benqi gave a speech on the internationalization of the school and the development path of young teachers. He said that the introduction of international talents has an important role and significance for the construction and development of the school, which requires both the institutional guarantee of the school and the joint efforts of all teachers. In terms of the development of young teachers, the returned teachers should adapt to the academic environment in China as soon as possible and adhere to the tenet of teaching and research. He hoped that the young teachers could develop their own research interests and sharpen their efforts. After that, the teachers actively expressed their suggestions and opinions. Associate Professor Lu Lu suggested that in terms of academic exchange, interdisciplinary and multi-level scientific cooperation should be carried out between the dominant disciplines and the weaker ones, so as to promote the balanced development of each discipline and enhance the visibility and influence of our college.
The symposium provided a good platform for communication and exchange between the college and the returned teachers, which is of great significance to help young teachers clarify their development direction and promote the development of the college.
