On the morning of December 6, according to the arrangement of the Organization Department of the university, the announcement of the new dean of the Law School was held in the conference room of the Law School. Comrade Wu Gang, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the University, and Comrade Zhu Xiaoliang, Executive Vice Minister of the Organization Department of the Party Committee of the University, attended the meeting, while Mao Huixi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Law School, and all the members of the leadership team, as well as some directors of teaching and research departments, branch secretaries and faculty representatives attended the meeting.

Comrade Zhu Xiaoliang, Executive Vice Minister of the Organization Department of the Party Committee of the University, presided over the meeting and read out the document of Southeast University, appointing Comrade Ouyang Benqi as the Dean of the Law School.

Secretary Mao Huixi thanked the university leaders and various departments for their concern and support for the development of the Law School, expressed on behalf of the Party Committee of the College the firm support for the university's decision to appoint the new dean, and emphasized the responsibility and mission of the new leadership team of the College from the overall situation of the College's development. Other members of the leadership team and faculty representatives also expressed their support for the university's appointment of the new dean of the law school, and unanimously affirmed Comrade Ouyang Benqi's experience and ability in teaching and research, academic influence, and administrative management.

Afterwards, Comrade Ouyang Benqi made a statement, thanking the university leadership and the faculty for their care and trust, and the former dean, Professor Liu Yanhong, for his outstanding contribution to the development of the college. In his speech, President Ouyang Benqi said, firstly, he would not forget the original intention, keep the righteousness and innovation, and adhere to the philosophy of cross-cutting, team-based, practical; secondly, he would be determined to forge ahead, and would do his best to do the work of the college in a practical manner; thirdly, he would be confident and energetic, and would unite everyone, rely on everyone, and lead everyone to make the college a success. Third, full of confidence, full of energy, unite everyone, rely on everyone, lead everyone, together to push the development of the College to a new stage.

Finally, on behalf of the university, Vice President Wu Gang raised expectations for the new dean and the new leadership team of the law school, hoping that the law school would continue to maintain the fine tradition of unity and build a strong leadership team; he asked the college to actively implement the talent development strategy and improve the structure of the faculty, and emphasized the importance of cultivating and introducing leading talents for the sustainable development of the college. Based on the existing development conditions, progress rate and domestic influence of the law school, Vice President Wu Gang also expressed that he would deploy the university's resources more scientifically and rationally in the future to provide more favorable support for the development and growth of the law school.
