Law School Young Faculty Development Forum Successfully Completed

At noon on December 16, 2021, the Law School Young Faculty Development Forum was successfully held in the conference room on the fourth floor, which aimed to provide long term support for the academic development of young faculty. Dean Ouyang Benqi, Secretary Mao Huixi, Vice Dean Xiong Zhanglin, Vice Secretary and Vice Dean Liu Qichuan, Associate Professor Liu Mingquan, Associate Professor Zhang Yue, Associate Researcher Xu Minchuan, Ms. Wang Weiling, Ms. Yu Tao, Ms. Miao Zeyi, Ms. Chang Tengyuan, Ms. Xing Chenxi, Ms. Wan Qianhui, Ms. Li Anqi, Ms. Dong Luyu, Ms. Yan Zhouqi and Ms. Wang Weiwei attended this event. The event was hosted by President Ouyang Benqi.

Dean Ouyang Benqi firstly introduced the composition of the law school and the basic research situation since five years, and pointed out that the three to six years after graduation of young teachers is the golden period of research, and encouraged young teachers to devote themselves to academic research and creation with sufficient research enthusiasm.

Next, the young faculty members spoke enthusiastically about their experiences from the perspectives of project application, research perspective selection, comparison of Chinese and foreign journals, and research direction adjustment. Vice President Xiong Zhanglin provided valuable experience and suggestions for the young teachers based on the questions they raised from three directions: thesis writing, academic translation, and project declaration. Vice Secretary Liu Qichuan pointed out that young teachers should be open-minded enough, dare to seek help, look up to excellent research role models and teaching role models, and improve themselves in a quiet academic environment.

Finally, Secretary Mao Huixi summarized the forum and made three suggestions for the future development of young faculty members, focusing on young faculty members are the hope of the college: First, young faculty members should care about national affairs, serve the overall situation of the country, focus on national strategies, and do penetrating research; second, young faculty members should develop good living habits and lay the foundation for research with good health. Secondly, young teachers should develop good living habits and lay the foundation of scientific research with a healthy body; thirdly, young teachers should prioritize their work, life and family, and be a coordinator.
