Associate Professor Dai Qingkang successfully passed the FIDIC Certification Dispute AdjudicAtor Exam

On May 13, 2022, the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) released the results of the second phase of the Certification dispute adjudicator examination in March 2022, and Associate Professor Dai Qingkang successfully passed the examination.

FIDIC Certified Dispute Adjudicator refers to an expert who has the expertise, practical experience and technical ability of various versions of the FIDIC standard contract conditions, and is able to make fair and independent judgments on various versions of FIDIC standard contract disputes and engineering project disputes based on THE FIDIC standard contract, and is certified by FIDIC to prevent and adjudicate disputes in the international infrastructure, construction and engineering fields.

The FIDIC Certified Dispute Adjudicator Exam is held once to three times a year, and the exam is conducted in English and is divided into two stages: the first stage is an objective exam with the content of single-choice questions and multiple choice questions about the various versions of fidic contract conditions; the second stage is a subjective exam, the exam content is essay writing about various versions of FIDIC contract conditions, mock case trial, mock case dispute prevention proposal writing, mock case dispute decision writing, etc. Candidates must pass the Stage 1 exam before they can qualify for the Phase 2 exam.

After passing the FIDIC Certified Dispute Adjudicator Phase II exam, candidates become FIDIC Certified Dispute Adjudicators and can apply to be included in the list of dispute adjudicators recommended by the FIDIC Chairman (published on the FIDIC official website), which currently has no Chinese.

Associate Professor Dai Qingkang has long tracked and paid attention to the theoretical and practical issues in the field of international engineering law, immersed himself in the study of FIDIC contract conditions, participated in the commercial negotiation, contract drafting, review and revision and dispute resolution of many international EPC EPC projects, and was familiar with the laws and regulations of international EPC projects and a variety of contract models.
After more than 20 years of development, the Law School of Southeast University has leveraged the advantages of our school's engineering and cooperated with the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Transportation and the School of Computer Science to innovate the composite talent training model of law + engineering, forming a cross-cutting, team-based, practical school-running characteristics. This time, Associate Professor Dai Qingkang passed the FIDIC Certification Dispute Adjudicator Examination, which is a prominent embodiment of the school's educational characteristics, which is not only conducive to further consolidating the characteristics of our school, but also helping to enhance the international influence of our institute.
