At 13:30 p.m. on August 29, 2022, the 2020 undergraduate engineering law special direction diversion meeting of Southeast University Law School was held in the moot court. Dean Ouyang Benqi, Associate Dean Shan Pingji, Associate Professor Gao Ge, Associate Professor Ye Shuli, Associate Professor Dai Qingkang, Associate Professor Zhang Malin, Professor Xing Chenxi, Teacher Chang Tengyuan, Teacher Wang Weiwei, 2019 undergraduate students Tang Wei, Chen Yue and all 2020 undergraduate students attended the diversion meeting.

The diversion meeting was presided over by Vice President Shan Pingji. Vice President Shan Pingji first welcomed and thanked all the teachers, students and colleagues for coming, and introduced the development of the experimental class of undergraduate engineering law in the law school of Southeast University.

President Ouyang Benqi spoke first. President Ouyang stressed the importance of engineering law diversion and the dominant position of engineering law in our institute. He pointed out that engineering law is an important contribution and exploration of the law school of Southeast University to the construction of China's new liberal arts, and it can even be said to be a leader. In 2020, the Ministry of Education put forward a declaration on the construction of new liberal arts, but the Law School of Southeast University determined the mode of running a new liberal arts at the beginning of its establishment in 2006. In 2014, it was divided into two major directions - one meeting and one center. One refers to the establishment of the Engineering Law Institute in 2008 by our university; One meeting refers to the establishment of the Engineering Law Research Association of Jiangsu Law Society in 2013; One Center refers to the establishment of the PPP Legal Research Center in 2015 by our College, the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Faculty of Architecture. Now engineering law is built on the powerful platform of one meeting and one center, has its own strong faculty, and has also introduced some new teachers transferred from engineering disciplines, and hired some engineering teachers to teach. In addition to engineering law, our institute also has five internal interdisciplinary disciplines of medical law, traffic law, quality law and human rights law, of which engineering law is the most sound interdisciplinary discipline for the integration of undergraduate and master's degrees.

This was followed by a speech by Associate Professor Ye Shuli. As the vice president of the Engineering Law Research Association of Jiangsu Law Society and the director of the PPP Legal Research Center of Southeast University, he pointed out the importance of legal education practice from the perspective of reflecting on legal education, in the field of engineering law, Southeast University engineering law teaching pays attention to practice, attaches importance to practical case sharing, front-line internship, and has become a legal talent training brand with mature legal genes, UTokyo characteristics and national reputation. Combined with the engineering advantages of Southeast University, a strong team of engineering law of Southeast University is formed, and the prospects and great significance of the interdisciplinary development of engineering law are introduced. Finally, Mr. Ye welcomes students who are interested in pursuing the cause of engineering law to face difficulties and break through disciplinary barriers, which requires undergraduates to develop and learn more.

Hong Xunzhou, director of the Personnel Department of Nanjing Branch of China Railway Construction Engineering Group Fourth Construction Co., Ltd., was invited to speak. He introduced the basic structure of the company and the salary package. Sun Yubei, legal director of China Railway Construction Engineering Group, introduced the legal work and the company's talent requirements around the company's structure system and application advantages. Minister Sun Yubei pointed out that at present, the company's legal structure is undergoing reform and expansion, and it has been decided to set up an independent legal compliance department in the Nanjing branch. Minister Sun listed the advantages of professional counterparts, excellent salaries, and perfect talent training planning, and emphasized that the Law School of Southeast University has set up engineering law directions to cultivate students covering engineering costs and engineering management, which is in line with the recruitment orientation of China Railway Construction Engineering Group. Minister Sun told the students present, so that the students had a deeper understanding of the legal work of China Railway Construction Engineering Group.

Teacher Gao Ge explained to everyone from the advantages of interdisciplinary interdisciplinarity, feasibility and the grade points that students care about, and the promotion and exemption. First of all, whether it is the intersection within the law discipline or the intersection of law and other disciplines, students can have a broader knowledge. At the same time, the learning experience of composite disciplines can become a prominent highlight in students' future career employment, and the intersection of disciplines can better meet the needs of employers for different talents today. In terms of teaching practicability, Southeast University has a complete discipline structure, teaching system and teaching team in this engineering method. Finally, in terms of the grade points that the students care about, the experience of previous years shows that the engineering law students did not lag behind in the grade points because of choosing more courses, but most of them performed very well. In terms of deferral and summer camps, the engineering law has also given many places.

Tang Wei and Chen Yue, 2017 undergraduate students of the Law School, shared their experiences on the study of engineering law. Tang Wei dispelled many concerns about the direction of engineering law for the students. She felt the unique charm of engineering law study, and believed that it was the embodiment of the contemporary jurists' thinking in response to modern needs, and there was one more choice for students to choose courses, internships and job searches. Tang Wei also mentioned that he learned the language and way of thinking in engineering in engineering law, a communication platform between legal and engineering people, and gained a lot.

Chen Yue introduced the relevant courses and learning contents of engineering law, pointed out the advantages of engineering law in the law school of Southeast University, and for her, engineering law study reflects the intersection of administrative law, civil law and economic law, and the future demand for talents in this area increases the opportunity for learning and employment, and experiences the knowledge charm of other disciplines. At the same time, Chen Yue believes that the study of engineering methods has enriched interdisciplinary thinking, accumulated its own heritage, and will bloom in the future.

Finally, the teachers of the engineering method team interacted with the students who came to participate in the diversion meeting, which not only showed the charm of the engineering method, but also answered the students' doubts about the engineering method diversion. Associate Professor Zhang Malin pointed out that the study of engineering law is more professional, and students can regularly carry out group meetings to discuss the practical issues of engineering law under the leadership of their supervisors, and have a more profound study of the field of engineering law at the undergraduate level. Southeast University's engineering law direction has a strong engineering background and excellent teaching team, which is conducive to students gaining competitive advantage in the subsequent employment process. Although there will be many challenges in the process of in-depth study of engineering methods, Teacher Zhang believes that the difficulty of engineering methods is directly proportional to the harvest brought by engineering methods.

Associate Professor Dai Qingkang mainly studies international engineering law, and he believes that engineering law has unlimited charm and unlimited challenges. Some scholars believe that the highest realm of studying contract law is to study engineering contracts. In contrast, international engineering is more challenging, with an international perspective, knowledge of comparative law, and cross-cultural thinking. In practice, a large number of projects are financed by international multilateral banks, and coping with engineering projects requires proficiency in the practice of the International Chamber of Commerce and sufficient knowledge reserves.

In the exchange session, Professor Xing Chenxi believes that the engineering law direction is more practical, applied and comprehensive, and will involve civil law, criminal law, administrative law, commercial law, international law and other fields, and the engineering law course will help everyone cultivate the ability to comprehensively apply the knowledge learned to solve problems. Teacher Chang Tengyuan believes that the only constant in today's world is change, and the speed of knowledge update and iteration is very fast, so it is particularly important to develop the ability to quickly learn new things at the undergraduate level. In addition, the core value of studying engineering law is project management. The engineering method allows students to gain more novel knowledge, cultivate students' ability to organize and manage projects, and improve the efficiency of students to complete projects.

The Law School of Southeast University takes interdisciplinary integration and characteristic development as the main axis of the development of legal disciplines, and takes law + as the main development idea, highlighting the cross-integration and integrated innovation of science and engineering medical disciplines with the advantages of law and Southeast University.
