On August 21, 2022, the first national Criminal Governance Modernization Graduate Thesis Competition was successfully held at Shanghai University of Political Science and Law. This paper competition is sponsored by the Chinese Criminal Law Research Association, and co-organized by Shanghai University of Political Science and Law and the Virtual Teaching and Research Office of Criminal Law Course of the Ministry of Education. 25 doctoral and master students from more than 50 universities such as Tsinghua University, Wuhan University, Southeast University, Chongqing University, China University of Political Science and Law, Xiamen University and other universities entered the main competition.
On August 23, 2022, the Organizing Committee of the Criminal Governance Modernization Postgraduate Thesis Competition officially announced the list of paper winners, and 4 doctors and 2 masters of our institute won several awards such as the second prize.
Liu Hao's article The Construction of the Overall Legal Benefit of the Crime of Infringing on Citizens' Personal Information and Its Normative Interpretation won the second prize of this competition.
Liu Shuangyang's article Important Data Security Compliance and Criminal Liability Boundaries in the Digital Economy Era won the third prize.
Qin Changsen's article Defining Nature, Constructing Judgment and Shaping Boundaries: Revisiting the Protection Law and Interests of Financial Fraud Crimes won the third prize.
You Junzhe's article The Phenomenon of Expansion and Restrictions on the Identification of Aided Offenders in Fund-raising Crimes won the third prize.
Liu Meng's article The Reshaping of the Legal Concept of Animal Resources Crime: From Ecocentrism to Dualistic Eclecticism was nominated for the award
Chen Yuheng's article The Overall Turn of the Criminal Law System of Public Health Crimes under the Overall National Security Concept was nominated for the award
It is reported that a total of 119 submissions were received in this competition, and Bai Xiuyun, editor of Chinese Law, Professor Liu Renwen, Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Che Hao, Vice Dean of Peking University Law School, Professor Fu Yuming of Northwest University of Political Science and Law, Professor Liu Xianquan of East China University of Political Science and Law, Professor Yu Gaizhi of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Law School, Professor Yao Jianlong of the Law Institute of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Du Yu of Fudan University Law School, and Professor Du Yu of Fudan University Law School were invited. Professor Liu Jun, head of the Scientific Research Department of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, served as a judge of nine experts and scholars in the field of criminal law and journal editors. In the defense session, the comments of the expert judges were remote, highlighting the combination of theory and practice, which benefited the participants a lot.
