On the afternoon of September 16, 2022, the third theme activity of the Southeast University Interdisciplinary Young Scholars Salon hosted by the Development Planning and Discipline Construction Office of Southeast University, and hosted by the Institute of Carbon Neutral Science and Technology and the School of Energy and Environment, was held online in the form of Tencent Conference. With the theme of Carbon Neutrality, this salon invited experts from the fields of electrical engineering, power engineering and engineering thermophysics, civil engineering and law to give keynote presentations, and nearly 200 young teachers from all faculties and departments of the university participated in the activities. The meeting was presided over by Professor Cai Liang, Executive Dean of the Institute of Carbon Neutral Science and Technology of Southeast University. Teacher Shan Pingji of our college was invited to participate in the salon and give a keynote speech.
Cutting-edge cross-cutting research of new power systems under the dual carbon target
Professor Gu Wei of the School of Electrical Engineering, with the title of Cross-cutting Research on the Frontier of New Power Systems under the Double Carbon Target, focused on the necessity of accelerating the construction of new power systems and new energy systems in order to achieve China's double carbon target under the background of rising carbon emissions and global warming. Professor Gu introduced his theoretical research and engineering applications in detail, as well as some cutting-edge intersection directions, and also explained the real-time simulation test principles and operations based on the new power system.
Cross-disciplinary studies of radiant thermal management contribute to carbon neutrality
Professor Zhao Dongliang of the School of Energy and Environment introduced the future picture and research of energy system under the policy background of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, under the title of Cross-research on radiant thermal management to help achieve carbon neutrality, and focused on the sky radiant cooling technology, dynamic regulation of radiant heat management and its wide application in many fields. In addition, Professor Zhao Dongliang also emphasized the intersection of multiple disciplines such as materials, chemical engineering, and heat transfer in the research related to radiant thermal management technology.
The number and technique of double carbon in the field of construction
Professor Li Dezhi of the School of Civil Engineering, with the title of The Number and Technique of Double Carbon in the Construction Field, elaborated on the background and strategic needs of the construction industry, the number of double carbon in the construction field and the art of the solution of double carbon in the construction field. Among them, Professor Li Dezhi cited the report data and documents to explain the interdisciplinary level of civil engineering and energy environment, focusing on the achievements of our university in analysis software and demonstration engineering and the breakthrough in carbon emission quantification and strategy proposal.
Carbon neutrality for the rule of law
Shan Pingji, vice dean of the Law School, introduced the laws and regulations and policies related to double carbon at home and abroad and the legislative trend of carbon neutrality at home and abroad, and focused on the intersection of law and scientific research enterprise engineering and other fields. Teacher Shan explained the guiding role of the Climate Change Response Law on atmospheric carbon emissions, analyzed the shortcomings of China's legal mechanism, and put forward substantive suggestions. In addition, Teacher Shan pointed out that legislative support for carbon neutrality can be provided, and provide legal support for double carbon technology and institutional support for double carbon plan.
After the theme report, the young teachers who participated in the activity changed to form a WeChat group chat to conduct in-depth communication and seek cooperation opportunities around the theme of this salon for technical barriers or scientific problems of cross-integration of different disciplines, as well as the most innovative future materials research directions.
The Southeast University Interdisciplinary Young Scholars Salon is one of the ten initiatives of the Southeast University Interdisciplinary and Interdisciplinary Construction Work Plan, which is held on a monthly basis. With Young Scholars as the main body and Interdisciplinary as the theme, the salon builds a platform for young scholars to exchange and cooperate, creates a strong interdisciplinary atmosphere, explores new growth points of disciplines, and helps young scholars in various fields to carry out interdisciplinary work.
