On May 19, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., the Master's Thesis Defense of the Civil Law Group of Class 2021 of the School of Law of Southeast University was held in the conference room on the 9th floor of Shifu Architecture Hall on the Sipailou Campus of Southeast University. The master's degree students of Civil Law Group of Class 2021 of the School of Law participated in the defense. Associate Professor Liu Yong, Associate Dean of the Law School of Nanjing University, was the Chairman of the Defense Committee, Professor Shan Pingji, Associate Professor Ren Danli, Associate Professor Chen Yuling, Associate Professor Xu Minchuan, Lawyer Liu Xunfeng of Jiangsu Zhibang Law Firm, were the members of the Defense Committee, and Ms. Xing Chenxi participated in the defense as the Secretary of the Defense Committee. The defense team strictly followed the requirements of “Measures for the Whole Process Management of Graduate Student Dissertation Quality” and “Measures for the Work of Graduate Student Dissertation Quality Guidance Team of Southeast University Law School” and other normative documents, and other master students of the Civil Law Group of Southeast University Law School observed the defense meeting.

The defense started at 9:00 a.m. on May 19th and lasted until about 16:00 p.m.. In the defense, 12 students made detailed presentations on the thesis topic, research purpose, research content, research methodology, key difficulties and innovations of their respective theses. On this basis, the teachers of the defense committee put forward many targeted and constructive questions in the light of the thesis content and the students' statements, and the students answered them one by one carefully and meticulously.

The defense was well-organized, standardized and in good order. During the defense, the students who participated in the defense were well-prepared, and they elaborated the core viewpoints and innovations of the defense thesis fluently and focusedly, which fully reflected the good knowledge reserve and professional quality of our students. The defense committee was conscientious and responsible, highlighting the issues raised by the defense students without losing novelty, and made overall evaluation and detailed modification suggestions on the dissertation. After full preparation and intense thinking, the defenders answered all the questions raised by the defense committee, recorded and revised them immediately, and tried to make the quality of the thesis further improved and enhanced. Finally, the defense of the 12 civil law master students was successfully completed in a serious, tense, orderly and professional atmosphere.
