At 1:00 p.m. on June 5, the undergraduate dissertation defence of the 2024 Engineering Law Group of the College of Law of Southeast University was successfully held in the Undergraduate Teaching Building of the Jiulonghu Campus. A total of 26 undergraduates from the Engineering Law Group of the School of Law of the Class of 2024, majoring in law, second degree and minor, defended their theses in two groups. Professor Xiong Zhanglin and Associate Professor Zhang Malin of Engineering Law Teaching and Research Department of Southeast University School of Law were the chairmen of the defence committee, Associate Professor Wang Weiling, Mr. Zhang Yunhao, Mr. Chang Tengyuan, and Mr. Xing Chenxi were the members of the defence committee, and Mr. Xing Chenxi as the secretary of the committee took part in the defence meeting. The defence team strictly followed the requirements of the Measures for the Administration of Graduation Design (Thesis) of Full-time Undergraduate Students of Southeast University and other normative documents.

The defence started at 1:00 pm on June 5 and lasted until about 5:00 pm. In this defence, 26 students took the stage, and with full enthusiasm and rigorous attitude, they elaborated the background of topic selection, research significance, application of methods, breakthroughs in difficulties and innovations of their dissertations. Teachers of the defence committee, with professional perspectives and profound academic skills, commented on each student's dissertation in detail and put forward deep and challenging questions. The students answered the questions one by one in a calm and unhurried manner, showing solid professional knowledge and excellent adaptability.

The whole defence process was well organised and standardised, and the scene was in good order. The defending students not only accurately and vividly expressed the core ideas and innovations of the dissertation, but also showed their enthusiasm and persistence in academic research. In their questions and comments, the teachers of the defence committee not only paid attention to the investigation of students' academic ability, but also cared about the direction and potential of their future academic development. They gave a comprehensive and detailed evaluation of each student's thesis and put forward many valuable modifications, aiming to help students further improve their thesis and academic level. After a fierce and wonderful defence, this undergraduate dissertation defence for 26 engineering law groups came to a successful end. This defence is not only a comprehensive test of the students' academic achievements, but also a comprehensive improvement of their comprehensive quality.
