Professor Wang Lusheng and His team from Southeast University's Digital Law Team Went to Shanghai Law Society for Research

On the afternoon of July 10, 2024, Professor Wang Lusheng, Associate Professor Xu Minchuan, Associate Professor Yang Jie, Associate Professor Miao Zeyi, Professor Wang Yuan, Professor Bi Sheng, and Postdoctoral Fellow Gong Shanyao from the Digital Law Team of Southeast University Law School went to Shanghai Law Society for research. Shi Weidong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group and full-time Vice President of the Shanghai Law Society, Sun Jianwei, Director of the Research Department, Lu Wei, a fourth level researcher of the Research Department, and Zhou Jian, a fourth level chief clerk of the Research Department, received the research team.

 

The research symposium was chaired by Vice President Shi Weidong. At the meeting, Professor Wang Lusheng first introduced the basic situation of the construction of the digital law discipline at Southeast University from the aspects of team members, development context, and main achievements, and exchanged future cooperation directions with the Shanghai Law Society.

 

Vice President Shi Weidong welcomed Professor Wang Lusheng and his delegation, and briefly introduced the valuable experience of the Shanghai Law Society in drafting normative documents such as the Shanghai Data Regulations (Expert Proposal Draft), Shanghai Regulations on Promoting the Development of Artificial Intelligence Industry, and local standards related to data trading in terms of institutional production.

 

At the meeting, both parties focused on discussing the development and revision of the training program for the discipline of digital law. Professor Wang Lusheng proposed that the Yangtze River Delta Law Society take the lead and involve universities in the Yangtze River Delta region to develop a set of exemplary digital legal talent training programs. Vice President Shi Weidong expressed his recognition and support for this, and suggested that a set of self-consistent and feasible global digital law talent training programs be developed for the world, making Chinese contributions to the arrangement of digital law education and teaching systems.

 

Both sides also discussed and exchanged ideas on the establishment of laboratories in the field of humanities, the joint signing of the Guidelines for the Governance of Humanoid Robots, cross regional institutional production in the Yangtze River Delta, and the large-scale model of foreign-related rule of law. In this survey, the team had in-depth exchanges with the Shanghai Law Society, fully understanding the valuable experience of the Shanghai Law Society's digital legal academic community construction and forming a deeper understanding of the intersection of law and cutting-edge technology research and talent cultivation.
