On July 13, 2024, the Yangtze River Economic Belt International Commercial Arbitration High Quality Development Alliance Establishment Conference and Legal Community Construction Seminar was successfully held in Nanjing. Professor Xiao Bing, Director of the Center for Foreign Rule of Law at Southeast University, and Associate Professors Yu Wenjie and Yi Bo from the School of Law attended the conference.

At the founding ceremony, Professor Xiao Bing, on behalf of the Southeast University Foreign Rule of Law Research Center, signed the Yangtze River Economic Belt International Commercial Arbitration High Quality Development Cooperation Framework Agreement with 12 arbitration institutions in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the Institute of Foreign Rule of Law at Nanjing University Law School, the International Rule of Law Research Institute at Wuhan University, and the Executive Research Institute at Southwest University of Political Science and Law, jointly creating an ecosystem for foreign rule of law research and international commercial arbitration legal services in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

In the keynote speech section, Professor Xiao Bing from our institute was invited as a special guest to give a keynote speech titled Building Foreign Rule of Law: From the Present to the Future.

Associate Professor Yu Wenjie was interviewed during the conference and commented on the positive role of the Yangtze River Economic Belt International Commercial Arbitration High Quality Development Alliance in promoting the cultivation of foreign-related legal talents.

Associate Professor Yi Bo conducted an exchange on the cutting-edge development of international commercial arbitration in the third stage of the seminar.

The successful holding of this event is of great significance for deeply implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions on further promoting the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and strengthening the construction of foreign-related rule of law, accelerating the construction of a regional integrated arbitration legal service system, achieving resource sharing and mutual benefit, and jointly promoting the development of foreign-related arbitration in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. As one of the four cooperating law schools of the Yangtze River Economic Belt International Commercial Arbitration High Quality Development Alliance, the Law School of Southeast University will rely on the Southeast University Foreign Rule of Law Research Center to promote deeper and more comprehensive exchanges and cooperation with all parties, and contribute more wisdom and strength to building a highland of international commercial arbitration in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
